Residents in Colombus, Ohio say they are fighting to save a piece of their heritage. The International House of Pancakes has slated its Colombus location for remodeling and locals say messing with the decor is messing with history.

The IHOP, as it is called by locals, was built in 1983. It is pictured here in 1988.

"So much has happened here," says Adam Meyers, "I just don't want to see them using bubble letters and giving this place a flat roof."

Meyers started the Ohio Plebian Restaurant Preservationist Committee in 2005 when he walked into a local Denny's only to find it had been amped up with zesty pastels.

The group made national news in the 90s for their ineffective spat with Sizzler.
